4 Industries Rocking it on Pinterest

Pinterest is the hottest social network for all things visual. The successful social photo sharing site is not just a time waster but a great tool for researching, bookmarking, brainstorming, collaborating, sharing, promoting and networking – all through vibrant, eye-catching images.

Real Estate
Who’s rocking it? Coldwell Banker

Why? The successful residential and commercial real estate company has gotten really creative with their boards. Instead of highlighting their own homes, they also created boards for Dream Man Caves, measuring value of a home and boards with inspiring rooms. Coldwell Banker connects with potential clients, drives people to their website and makes them a fun resource.

News/media
Who’s rocking it? Wall Street Journal

Why? The Journal sorts its boards by sections of the newspaper from design to sports to real estate, and every photo links back to their website. This method captures the visual audience’s attention and draws them into reading the articles. Personally, I think the board solely dedicated to Madonna is a bit much though.

Libraries
Who’s rocking it? Ann Arbor District Library

Why? Libraries across the nation are capitalizing on the visual power of Pinterest to show off book covers, new books, special collections, kid-friendly material, showcasing historical archives, promoting library activities, promoting book clubs, and more. The AADL, which is also one of our wonderful clients, has created boards for upcoming events, Ann Arbor in the movies (showcasing movies filmed in A2) and more.

Museums
Who’s rocking it? The Smithsonian

Why? With boards titled “Titanic at 100” and “Fashion Forward,” the museum- which is collectively 19 museums, 9 research centers and the National Zoo knows how to grab the attention of Pinterest users. The museum uses its boards to promote upcoming exhibits and show off past ones.

Who we want to see on Pinterest next…
Cities! How cool would it be if Detroit had a Pinterest with boards of storefronts, summer festivals and other cool happenings around town?

Do you know an unexpected organization that’s rocking it on Pinterest? Share!
