Amy Morris, APR

 

 

When Amy Morris came to Martin Waymire in 2006, she brought communications excellence, legislative savvy and an exemplary work ethic built from 20 years experience in marketing, media and the state legislature. She is among Michigan’s premier practitioners of legislative public relations, communications advocacy and social media marketing. She has worked on some of the state’s most high profile public policy initiatives. Her work with the Center for Michigan’s “Truth Squad” helped Martin Waymire win the 2011 “Best of Show” Award from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Central Michigan Chapter. Amy continues to assist leading associations in effectively telling their stories. Her clients include the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, the Michigan Humane Society, the Michigan Municipal League, the Center for Michigan and the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion.

Amy earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Michigan State University. As former reporter, editor and publisher of the Gladwin County Record, her experience in journalism and the newspaper industry includes writing, advertising sales and design. Amy also served as chief of staff for a Michigan legislator.

Mother to a first grader, two Belgian Malinois, and a German Shepherd Dog, Amy also enjoys gardening, dog training and home improvement projects.
