Mariam Robinson joins Martin Waymire as Director of Public Relations

Martin Waymire, a Lansing-based public relations and digital marketing firm, today announced the hiring of Mariam Robinson as a director of public relations.

In her most recent role prior to joining Martin Waymire, Robinson was responsible for project management, content writing, board governance, committee oversight, special projects, advocacy and public policy efforts, as well as newsletter publication coordination for clients across six states, including Michigan.

Robinson has worked in the greater Lansing area for 17 years and comes to Martin Waymire with a breadth of experience in the areas of public policy, government relations, project management, marketing and communications, association governance and more.

“Mariam has a strong background in both public policy and advocacy as well as communication strategy,” said Angela Minicuci, APR, partner at Martin Waymire. “Combined with her vast association experience, Mariam will be a great asset to the team by adding to the expertise we are able to offer our current and prospective clients. We are thrilled to have her on board.”

Robinson has worked with the Michigan State Medical Society in government relations, former State Senator Glenn S. Anderson’s office, as well as the office of former Lieutenant Governor John D. Cherry, Jr. When the Granholm/Cherry administration’s term came to an end in 2010, Robinson transitioned into the association world where she worked for organizations such as the Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association, Emergent Holdings, Ngage Management, and more.

Robinson is a graduate of Michigan State University’s James Madison College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
