A social media and technology marketing expert with strong design and writing skills and an assistant account executive join the staff of Martin Waymire, a Lansing-based, full-service public relations and social media marketing firm.
Andrea Poole adds another senior-level social media expert to the Martin Waymire team. Andrea, who comes to Martin Waymire from one of Michigan’s leading technology companies, also brings strong graphic design and writing skills. As senior account executive, marketing and new media, she will provide strategic and tactical support to the firm’s clients.
Greg Rokisky, who joined Martin Waymire in 2013 as a student practitioner, will become an assistant account executive, to support the firm’s senior staff as needed. He has been working extensively on various Martin Waymire clients including Potter Park Zoo, Michigan Future and Kewadin Casinos.
“As we continue to grow and as our clients depend on us for even more new media strategies and tactics in addition to traditional PR services, we are thrilled to be able to add two extraordinarily talented members to our team,” said Martin Waymire Partner Roger Martin, APR. “Andrea will serve as a triple threat, bringing to the table a strong writing repertoire, strategic social media and digital marketing knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and specific demands.”
Prior to joining Martin Waymire, Poole worked as a product marketing manager at TechSmith Corp., where she was responsible for the ‘voice of the customer’ and communicating market shifts and trends. She also served as the Alumni Relations Coordinator at Michigan State University’s College of Communication Arts & Sciences, where she guided efforts of the college’s alumni association and board to connect with and engage alumni and donors.
Rokisky will finish school at Michigan State University, where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications. Prior to Martin Waymire, he served as the Director of PR for one of the nation’s largest Residence Halls Associations, MSURHA, where he was the sole PR point-of-contact, creating and distributing press releases, writing and carrying out social media strategy, and overseeing all large-scale events for the on-campus government. He is a member of the MSU nationally affiliated chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), and served as an Account Associate for MSU’s student-run PR firm, Hubbell Connections, where he worked with the Capitol Area Humane Society and Lansing’s Michigan Creative.
Martin Waymire’s nine full-time professionals serve many clients including the Michigan Health & Hospital Association, Presidents Council State Universities of Michigan, the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, Waste Management, Michigan Municipal League, Michigan Future, Michigan Cable Telecommunications Association, Delta Dental, Potter Park Zoo, Michigan State University, Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion, the Lansing Board of Water and Light, MESSA and many others.
Outside of work, Poole and her husband Andrew live in East Lansing with their dog (their ‘first’ child) Einstein, and are expecting their first child (human child, that is) in the fall. In her spare time Andrea helps coordinate a national a cappella tournament for college and high school students (think real-life Pitch Perfect). Rokisky, a Grand Haven native, is a social media junkie who spends his time travelling as much as possible around the state. Both enjoy craft beer, and cheering on MSU and Detroit sports teams.
