Martin Waymire, a Lansing-based public relations and digital marketing firm with a foundation in public policy, received top honors in the Central Michigan Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) PACE Awards. Martin Waymire also won multiple awards in PRSA’s “Diamond Awards” competition for the East Central states of Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
We were thrilled this year to take home 10 awards for public relations excellence in competitions with agencies and organizations from across Mid-Michigan and the East Central United States — definitely a reason to celebrate!
Martin Waymire won three first-place “Pinnacle Awards” in CMPRSA’s 2020 PACE Awards competition, for the I Vaccinate campaign and Hemlock Semiconductor Operations (HSC). The company also won awards for several tactics, including the I Vaccinate influencer social media campaign encouraging Michigan parents to get their children immunized by sharing real family stories, as well as a series of localized maps, highlighting crumbling roads in every Michigan legislative district.
In total, the firm won five PACE Awards and five Diamond Awards, all given out June 23 at the annual PACE Awards event, held virtually this year. The awards included:
- First-place Diamond Award for the campaign entry, “Yes on Proposal 2: From grassroots campaign to national phenomenon.” The client is Voters Not Politicians.
- First-place Diamond Award for the campaign entry, “I Vaccinate Campaign.” Clients are the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services and the Franny Strong Foundation.
- First-place Diamond Award for the tactics entry, “Fix MI State: Public Awareness Around Michigan’s Failing Infrastructure.” The client is the Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association.
- Merit Award for the Diamond Awards tactics entry, “I Vaccinate Influencer Marketing.” Clients are the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services and the Franny Strong Foundation.
- Merit Award for the Diamond Awards tactics entry, “Fix MI State: Business leaders release maps highlighting crumbling roads in each legislative hometown, call for funding.” The client is the Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association.
- First-place Pinnacle Award for public service campaign in the PACE Awards competition for the I Vaccinate campaign. Clients are the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services and the Franny Strong Foundation.
- First-place Pinnacle Award for special event campaign in the PACE Awards competition for the Polysilicon Trade Briefing Before the U.S. House Manufacturing Caucus. The client is Hemlock Semiconductor Operations (HSC).
- First-place Pinnacle Award for social medium tactic in the PACE Awards competition for I Vaccinate: Sharing Real Family Stories Through Social Media. Clients are the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services and the Franny Strong Foundation.
- Award of Excellence for special purpose publications tactic in the PACE Awards competition for the Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association’s Fix MI State “Every Michigan legislative district’s roads are crumbling, Republican and Democrat alike” series of maps.
- Award of Excellence for innovative tactics tactic in the PACE Awards competition for the Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association’s Fix MI State campaign’s series of maps, “Localized maps highlight crumbling roads in every Michigan legislative district.”
