Martin Waymire wins 13 PR excellence awards for East Central United States and local region

Oh what a night! The Martin Waymire team and our clients are celebrating a great showing at the 2017 PACE Awards, where we were honored with 13 awards for public relations excellence in competitions with agencies and organizations from across Mid-Michigan and the East Central United States.

Martin Waymire won five first-place “Pinnacle Awards” in the Public Relations Society of America Central Michigan Chapter’s 2017 PACE Awards competition, including Best in Show for the entry, “Growing Bridge Magazine readership through social media marketing.” The company swept the social media category awards, winning first-place for Bridge Magazine in the social marketing campaign category and first-place in the social medium tactic category for the “Michigan Infrastructure Facts” campaign for the Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association. Martin Waymire also won multiple awards in PRSA’s “Diamond Awards” competition for the East Central states of Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, including a first-place Diamond Award for the Michigan Retailers Association’s “I Buy Nearby” Weekend.

In total, the firm won nine PACE awards and four Diamond Awards, which were announced last night at the annual PACE Awards event held in Lansing:

  • First-place Diamond Award for the campaign entry “Michigan Retailers Association’s Buy Nearby Campaign.” The client is the Michigan Retailers Association.
  • Merit Award for the Diamond Awards entry “Lansing Board of Water & Light’s Lansing Energy Tomorrow.” The client is the Lansing Board of Water & Light.
  • Merit Award for the Diamond Awards entry “Michigan Infrastructure Facts: Growing Awareness and Engagement around Infrastructure Issues through Social Media Marketing.” The client is the Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association.
  • Merit Award for the Diamond Awards entry “Protect Michigan Jobs: Fighting to Preserve Good Wages for Michigan Construction Workers.” The client is the Project Michigan Jobs coalition.
  • Best in Show and First-Place Pinnacle Award for social marketing campaign in the PACE Awards competition for Bridge Magazine.
  • First-place Pinnacle Award for special events campaign in the PACE Awards competition for the Michigan Retailers Association “I Buy Nearby” weekend.
  • First-place Pinnacle Award for social medium tactic in the PACE Awards competition for Michigan Infrastructure Facts.
  • First-place Pinnacle Award for editorials/op-ed columns tactic for the Michigan Municipal League Gag Order op-ed.
  • First-place Pinnacle Award for special purpose publications tactic for the Michigan Council for Maternal & Child Health infographic.
  • Award of Excellence for community relations campaign in the PACE Awards competition for Lansing Board of Water & Light’s “Lansing Energy Tomorrow” campaign.
  • Award of Excellence for website tactic in the PACE Awards competition for the Fix MI State website.
  • Award of Excellence for annual reports tactic in the PACE Awards competition for the Michigan College Access Network annual report
  • Award of Achievement for public service campaign in the PACE Awards competition for the Michigan College Access Network.
