Big news! We announced today we have strengthened our award-winning team by hiring experienced blogger and communications strategist Andrea Kerbuski as account executive and promoting assistant account executive Greg Rokisky.
Andrea’s blog and other social media channels have almost 18,000 followers and have been featured on CNN.com. She previously served as director of public relations for a healthcare company, Olympia Group LLC, where she successfully launched a rebranding effort that included website redesign, streamlined communications and a social media campaign. Here at Martin Waymire, she will provide account management as well as digital strategy to many of our firm’s clients, including the Michigan Cable Telecommunications Association, the Michigan Retailers Association, the Michigan Health & Hospital Association, Bridge Magazine and more.
Greg, who joined our team in 2013 as a student practitioner and became an assistant account executive last summer, has been promoted to account executive. Well-versed in social media, he provides a variety of strategic and tactical support with a digital focus to our clients, including Waste Management, Michigan Future, the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, Michigan Retailers Association, Energy Choice Now, and more.
“Our firm continues to develop and grow, and we are pleased to have two new account executives who can provide and execute new media strategies and digital tactics in addition to traditional PR services,” said Martin Waymire Partner Roger Martin, APR.
“Andrea will serve as a digital and strategic asset, bringing to the table a strong cause marketing background, strategic social media and digital marketing knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and specific demands,” Martin added. “Greg already has shown he knows how to keep abreast of the top digital media trends as well as offer sound strategic counsel to our clients.”
In addition to her work as public relations director at Olympia Group LLC, Kerbuski has served as chief communications officer for Capital Area Michigan Works! and account executive at Band Digital in Chicago. Andrea holds an undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and is pursuing her master’s degree in integrated marketing communications at Eastern Michigan University. She currently sits on the board of Grand River Connection and the Michigan FFA Alumni Council and also is a member of the Central Michigan Public Relations Society of America (CMPRSA). In 2013, she was a recipient of the Lansing Regional Chamber’s 10 Over the Next Ten award, recognizing local young professionals in Greater Lansing.
Rokisky currently serves on the Grand River Connection Membership Committee, is CMPRSA’s New Professionals Committee co-chairman and oversaw this year’s CMPRSA PACE Awards. He also is a paid member of the Social Media Association of Michigan. Before joining Martin Waymire, he served at Michigan State University as PR director for one of the nation’s largest Residence Halls Associations, MSURHA. He also served as an account associate for MSU’s student-run PR firm, Hubbell Connections, where he worked with the Capitol Area Humane Society and Lansing’s Michigan Creative.
Outside of work, Kerbuski is a photographer and manages her fashion blog. In addition to CNN.com, her blog has been featured on Lucky Magazine and Refinery29 along with local features. She’s collaborated with brands such as Dove, Dodge and Kohl’s in just the last year. Greg, a Grand Haven native, is a social media junkie who spends his time traveling as much as possible around the state and is a frequent visitor of New York City.
