Mariam Robinson

Director of Public Relations

Mariam Robinson is a strategic association and public policy professional with close to 17 years of experience in government relations and association management. Mariam wears many hats to get the job done, particularly triaging projects and putting her writing skills to use for clients and team members. Her career has taken her into the worlds of physicians and nurses, infrastructure and transportation, corporations and the Michigan legislature.

As a director of public relations, Mariam works with several client teams to spearhead project management, conduct earned media efforts, and produce other marketing and communications materials as needed to help clients achieve their strategic public relations goals. She works with Climate Power, Michigan Association of Health Plans (MAHP), Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, Steelcase Foundation, and University Research Corridor (URC), among others.

Before joining Martin Waymire, Mariam spent the last ten plus years as Director of Membership Engagement & Advocacy for an association management company, as Board Relations Liaison for a large corporate enterprise, as well as Director of Strategic Affairs for the Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association (MITA). In 2016, Mariam was named a Rising Leader by the Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE).

Mariam is a proud graduate of Michigan State University’s James Madison College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in international relations, and the College of Communication Arts & Sciences, where she received a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

When she is not working, Mariam loves to spend time with her husband, Alan, her two sons, Oliver (6) and Beau (2), her dog, Zoe (15), and her friends and family. She also loves reading books, organizing her house, eating sweet treats, rooting for the Michigan State Spartans, and being outside in warm weather.
