Assistant Account Executive
Rachel Nanzer’s mission is to provide the communication skills organizations need to better aid the communities they serve. Graduating from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in professional writing, Nanzer is dedicated to making Michigan a better place at Martin Waymire.
Nanzer has worked as a graphic designer, social media strategist, web manager and writer for various Lansing nonprofits and organizations. During her time as a communications and social media intern with the Information Technology Empowerment Center (ITEC), she balanced and fulfilled shifting priorities as the only communications employee on staff. As a web manager for the Multi-Racial Unity Living Experience (MRULE), she revamped the program’s entire website in addition to creating promotional posters and graphics. At Christian Services, Nanzer served as a design intern, developing materials for an annual ministry event.
In her spare time, she enjoys using her creative abilities to engage with the Lansing area. She has volunteered with Riverview Church’s creative team, editing and formatting their pastoral blog. As a poet, Nanzer participated in two collaborative performances, with all proceeds donated to REACH Art Studio and the Association for Children’s Mental Health. In November 2016, she used painting as a public demonstration on Michigan State University’s campus, which was later featured in the international art competition ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, Mich. She is excited to begin working on another art project coming up soon.
